Our Beginning

Ebenezer Christian Academy of Fort Myers, Inc
. began in 1998 when Rev. Gabriel and his wife, Natacha, started teaching music to children and teenagers. They teach beginners how to read and listen to music and play instruments, providing music appreciation and an opportunity to be in the Academy’s band for youth living in the central Ft. Myers area. The favorable response to the music program led to offering other needed programs for the community, including tutoring, mentoring, sports (especially soccer) and English as a Second Language. In August of 2004, Hurricane Charley devastated Southwest Florida, including the building housing the Academy and Full Gospel Assembly of Fort Myers located on Highland Ave. in the Dunbar community of Fort Myers. Since then, Rev. Gabriel and Natacha have solicited assistance from Lee County and the City of Fort Myers and the goodness of local companies to rehabilitate the building. They continue to hold youth events and programs for adults and youth in the more complete side of the building, but they have not been able to achieve their goal of having an office open during regular business hours and an after school program Monday-Friday from 3-6 p.m. It is the vision of the Academy to provide after school hours programs for youth and evening programs for adults as well as weekend events. All adults and youth are invited to attend these non-denominational programs offered by the Academy.
