Reverend Joseph R. Gabriel & Natacha Gabriel

Rev. Joseph R. Gabriel

Rev. Gabriel, President of Ebenezer Christian Academy. Rev. Gabriel was born in Saint-Marc, Haiti . He is a  married father of five children–three boys and two girls. Rev. Gabriel was ordained as a Pastor by the Full Gospel Church of Miami, Florida in 1995. He possesses a BS from Ecole Professionnelle J.B. Damier. He currently is the overseeing Pastor at Full Gospel Assembly of Fort-Myers, Florida and has a passion to serve his community.

He volunteered for 6 years at the YMCA as a soccer coach. Through his love for the sport he has maintained himself as a role model for children to guide them in their life’s path. As a humanitarian, after the January 12, 2010 earthquake in Haiti Rev. Gabriel volunteered on the USNS Comfort; there, he spent two weeks providing emergency & medical aid to those injured in the quake.  On October 6, 2016, Rev. Joseph Gabriel joined the International Conference of Police Chaplains. Rev. Joseph services locally as a chaplain for the Fort Myers Police Department.

Rev. Gabriel’s passion did not end there. When he and his wife Natacha moved to Fort-Myers in 1998 their hearts was overwhelmed with the needs of the community.

Natacha Gabriel

Program Director

Natacha Gabriel, a Board Director of Ebenezer Christian Academy, was born in Marsh Harbour, Bahamas and was raised in Miami, Florida.  She has the keen sense and wit of the city life and has experienced first hand  the detrimental affects of a failed family & societal structure. Natacha currently holds a license as a Medical Assistant.

In establishing Ebenezer Christian Academy in Lee County, Rev. Gabriel and Natacha’s first priority was to establish a relationship with city and county leaders. They began educating the community on the importance and the benefits of a strong family. They empowered parents to encourage their children in school ,allowing them to understand that education is the key to success. Crucial points to developing a strong family structure is eating, communicating, playing, and spending quality time together as a family. At the end of the day, the resounding message is “time lost can never be recaptured” so seize every opportunity and never let a moment go unnoticed.  They also teach the community to prepare physically as well as mentally for hurricanes; what is needed, why it’s needed & how long to weather a storm. Their ultimate goal is to empower the youth to be proactive within the community, to become pillars in society, and one day to return the favor.

Natacha started at the Lee County School District in October 2017. She is a paraprofessional and assists the teachers with the Haitian-Creole students coming Haiti or from any other school districts. Natacha follows the Haitian students in their classes helping them transition into the English and the new educational system in the United States. She assists with setting up meetings with parents, teachers, principal as a liaison between the school and the parent. Natacha administers WIDA and CELLA test, examinations for the English Language Learner to determine how proficient they are in listening, writing, speaking and comprehension. She makes the phone calls because the majorities of the students’ parents do not speak or understand English well. Calls made are usually for (behavior good or bad), positive class improvement, etc. She frequently checks the students’ grades and follows up with the students if they have missed assignments or have failing grades, finding out the reason why. Natacha helps the students fill out important financial documents such as FAFSA needed for secondary education and helps the students create an account and register for SAT and ACT. She tutors on Tuesday afternoon, meets with the counselors to make sure students are taking the correct classes needed for graduation and creates an ESOL folder for the newcomers to add into their cumulative folder. In other words, she is there to assist the teachers with the students.
